Web Design and Development
- Destiny's Children — A Legacy of War and Gangs
- Interactive website on gangs and the aftermath of war, made for documentary photographer Donna DeCesare. ActionScript development and Wordpress design was my part; art direction was by Zohar Nir-Amitin.
- Allensworth: Past and Present [requires Flash]
- Multimedia project produced for News21 at the University of Maryland. I did video reporting and built a custom Flash interface, which incorporates maps and other supplemental content.
The interface was also used for a colleague's story, "Political Power: When will Latinos Make a Difference?"
- Emergence: Ascent of the Latino Vote [requires Flash]
- Experimental Flash app done at News21; presents GIS data in a Flash interface. Uses Census 2000 geography, supplemented with data from CNN exit polling. Was never polished or optimized to be released in the final project; presented here as a proof of concept.
- InCite — an alternative publication at The University of Texas at Austin
- Website built in collaboration with Mercedes de Uriarte's Alternative Media class at the University of Texas. I served as technical consultant and integrated the design with a Silverstripe backend.
iPhone App Development
- TweetSheet — iPhone app for Twitter backup & search
- iPhone and iPad Universal app for Twitter backup and search. Coded in Objective-C for iOS. Uses Core Data for a storage layer, and a Python utility, hosted on the Google App Engine, to fetch a user's history.
- Your Flowing Data Uploader [iTunes link]
- Simple frontend for data entry to Your Flowing Data, the innovative self-surveilance project. Uses Twitter API, implements OAuth authentication stack.
Video and Multimedia
- News Video: Proposition 8 Demonstration
- Two and a half minute multimedia piece on the rally against California's Proposition 8, which restricted same-sex marriage, in Austin, TX; edited in Final Cut Pro, turned around overnight.
- Documentary Video: Daily
- Video done for a multimedia class, documenting 2008 election night at The Daily Texan. Edited in Final Cut Pro; sound mixed in Sountrack Pro.
- Other Video: Documenting Creativity
- Video for an advertising class project; illustrating the concept of creative flow.
Other Work
- Writing sample: Last Voyage for Longhorn
- Feature story written for The Daily Texan, on the last research trip by the University of Texas' flagship research vessel, the R/V Longhorn.
